My rating of this resource: ***
My experience using this resource: Biology: Energy Transfer in cells
Topic I was teaching: Cellular Respiration
My learning goal for which this resource was used: to have students understand the stepwise release of energy from a sugar molecule to ATPto have students know and understand the equation for cellular respiration, being able to identify where reactants are used and products released during the process
Course Level: A.P., Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular, Remedial
How I/my students used the resource: -as a review of cellular respiration-as a lab resource (making cheese, yougurt, soda) -as a resource "ask the expert" questions
Value Added: Increases access to scientists, Provides practice or tutorial, Provides additional content, lab ideas
Strengths: simple, not super engaging but very straight forward, perhaps over the heads of more foundational students
Weaknesses: goofy songs can turn students off, more of a teacher resource than for students
