My rating of this resource: ***

My experience using this resource:
Earth Day

Topic I was teaching:
providing facts about the status of the Earth's "health"

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
To provide information to the school community that encourages people to consider the impact of their individual choices/actions.

Course Level:
A.P., Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular, Remedial

How I/my students used the resource:
-a source for information
-a site for games (elementary-middle level)
-has links for e-cards
-a wonderful tool for hs students to use when preparing to conduct cross-age educational outreach activities
-has links to major environmental agencies so that students can communicate with them

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation, engaging

Strengths:
-a wide range of resources at this very student friendly site.
-while geared for elementary/middle school students, even my high school students enjoyed using this site

Weaknesses:
-needs to be balanced with information that may have more "scientific credibility" or you'll be accused of being a "screaming greenie" or a "tree hugger!"
