My rating of this resource: ***

My experience using this resource:
Biology

Topic I was teaching:
Protein Synthesis-Transcription

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Give students an introduction to transcription without all the enzymes and details that will be introduced later.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
This was shown to the students and I asked them to explain what they were seeing. Because we had done DNA replication they were able to make connections.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation

Strengths:
Simplicity of the animation makes it good to use. It also has text with each step and you can view the animation with pauses or continuously

Weaknesses:
It's simplicity is good for introductins but the animation lacks the details that are needed to thoroughly understand transcription. If I was pressed for time I would not use this site.
