My learning goal for which this resource was used: -to review/reinforce key concepts-to serve as an anticipatory set prior to class discussion/actiivites -to use as practice in preparation for assessments
Course Level: A.P.
How I/my students used the resource: Reviewing material from the Introdcution to Biology course was exciting! It was like being in college all over agian! I enjoyed the opportunity to view video lectures, sample exams, assignments, and lecture outlines. This resource served as an energizer - and in many cases a subject refresher/updater.I would encourage my students to review key sections that correlate with our class syllabus in preparation for class discussions/laboratory excercises.
Value Added: Provides visualization or animation, Provides a virtual lab, Increases access to scientists, Provides practice or tutorial, Provides additional content, Provides assessment opportunity, Increases student engagement and motivation, there may be more, I just haven't had the opportunity to explore it as much as I'd like.
Strengths: WOW!There is a vast amount of information here! There is great potential for this to be an engaging resource for both me and my students! For the motivated and inquisitive teacher/student this is a goldmine!
Weaknesses: Even for AP students, there are concepts presented that are lofty and may be out-of-reach/intimidating for students to access/grasp.
