My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Organic Compounds

Topic I was teaching:
Enzymes

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
To teach students the basic functions of enzymes and to give them an understanding of the principles of competitive and non-competitive substrate binding.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
As an introduction for a lab investigating the effects of urease on urea, thiourea and iodine, I showed this animation in class to help students understand the possible mechanisms for what they were about to observe. I gave them the link and assigned them to review the site at home to help them write their lab report.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
Shows simply the variations that happen with a competitive and non-competitive molecule.

Weaknesses:
The animations are very simple and it just starts once you get to the page.
