My experience using this resource:
plant nutrition

Topic I was teaching:
My students were conducting a self-designed experiment focusing on the relationship between nutrients and plant development. I discovered this site in my information background search.

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
"The Dirt On Dirt" - To have students appreciate that dirt can be beautiful and very "alive"!

Course Level:
Intro or Regular, Remedial

How I/my students used the resource:
Students used this site as a background resource when exploring the relationship between nutrients and plant development.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases modeling skills, Increases access to scientists, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
accessible, appealing, grade 8-9 vocabulary base, informative

Weaknesses:
very accessible but may need to create a users guide to help students stay focused and sure to capture goal concepts.
