structure of the sun; dynamics of outer layers of sun's surface

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
for students to observed and appreciate the magnitude of changes in the sun's outer layers

Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
I displayed downloaded images and movies on the SmartBoard; students were also given the web address so that they could link to it on their own

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Provides access to data sets, Provides access to remote instrumentation, Increases access to scientists, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
professional scientific data, processed in a manner that appeals to amateurs and students as well as professionals

Weaknesses:
the site is not as thoroughly indexed/labeled as it could be, especially if you are looking for something specific
