My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
The Circulatory System

Topic I was teaching:
Exploring the structure and function of the circlatory system.

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
To be able to discuss how the heart, blood vessels, and the blood are each uniquely structurally fit for their function - and support each other's fucntions.

Course Level:
A.P., Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
After instruction, I gave my students a circulatory system scavenger hunt sheet. They could use their notes AND this web site to answer the questions on the sheet. Some questions required screen shots that they could print and turn in with their questions.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases modeling skills, Provides practice or tutorial, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
Excellent graphics and information is appropriate for average to above average learners.
Can be too text rich in places.
The enrichment activities are a nice addition.

Weaknesses:
I would have liked more "quizzing" features...
Healthy Heart Enrichment requires getting hearts from the butcher - but they tend to be pretty cut up by the time they get to him/her... Asking hunter friends to save hearts is a great option, but it is tough to get them to give up their hearts (yum!).
