My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Gas Laws - Introduction

Topic I was teaching:
I used this simulation to introduce gas laws.

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
I wanted to help students to visualize particles of gas, and to reinforce the kinetic molecular theory.

Course Level:
A.P., Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular, Remedial

How I/my students used the resource:
I showed students the simulation and then posed questions about the topic at hand, for example, "What will happen to the pressure when we change the volume?" etc.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases modeling skills, Provides a virtual lab

Strengths:
The simulation is very good at help students to visualize the gas particles.

(From their site - Pump gas molecules to a box and see what happens as you change the volume, add or remove heat, change gravity, and more. Measure the temperature and pressure, and discover how the properties of the gas vary in relation to each other.)

Weaknesses:
I have had trouble with holding variables constant to gauge the effect on the other variables. I think that despite the flaws this site holds a lot of value because it really helps students to visualize the particles.
