My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
chemistry

Topic I was teaching:
Redox-Activity series

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Help students understand the competition for electrons which creates the activity series and to understand what is happening in an oxidation-reduction reaction.

Course Level:
Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
I gave out the hand out and we did the activity in class after doing a minilab of finding the order of activity for zinc, lead and copper.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases modeling skills, Increases data collection & analysis skills, Provides a virtual lab

Strengths:
Students did seem engaged and many seemed to have a better understanding after doing the exercise.

Weaknesses:
I used the computer cart and many had difficulty logging on, therefore I needed to have students work in groups even though I think it would have been more valuable to do it individually.
