My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Chemistry

Topic I was teaching:
Periodic Law

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Learn to graph in Excel.

Observe the trends in atomic radius, 1st ionization energy, and electronegativity.

Course Level:
Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
Looked up values of atomic radius, 1st ionization energy, and electronegativity for the group 1 elements and the period 3 elements on WebElements. Graphed the trends in those three values by group and by period in Excel.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases graphing skills, Increases data collection & analysis skills, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
Quick and easy lab to do. Students actually enjoyed learning how to make graphs in Excel.

Weaknesses:
none.
