My rating of this resource: *****

My experience using this resource:
human reproductive behaviors

Topic I was teaching:
Affect of hormones on reproductive behaviors.

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
To show the power of an anecdote and to help raise questions about the effect of hormones on behavior.

Course Level:
Honors or Advanced

How I/my students used the resource:
I played the show during one class and students listened and wrote notes. Their homework was to post questions or thoughts from listening to the class conference and to continue the discussion in that format.

Value Added:
Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation, Raises significant questions on anecdotal evidence

Strengths:
The stories told are quite remarkable. Please note that the second story is about a woman who undergoes a sex change and has several sexual references. The students were captivated by this program and many asked for the url so they could play it for their parents and/or friends. It does provide a perfect opportunity to discuss the importance of sample size and the difficulty of isolating variables.

Weaknesses:
The stories are so compelling, it is critical to discuss beforehand the caveat of drawing conclusions from only one or two people's stories.
