My rating of this resource: *****

My experience using this resource:
General Chemistry

Topic I was teaching:
Change in states of matter

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Have students determine the melting and freezing point of water using a graph.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
As a lab- I introduced students to the program and the probe the day before and gave them time to do a partial dry run. This gave them time to think about how to approach the lab during the lab period.

Value Added:
Increases graphing skills, Increases data collection & analysis skills

Strengths:
As opposed to the old napthalene lab, this lab allows students to see the data graphed while doing the lab. The program and lab are easy enough that students did not hesitate to repeat the lab for greater accuracy. The lab also enables a lot of team work.

Weaknesses:
None.
