Description
of resource:
"How Things Work" is an online course taught based on Lou Bloomfield's books. The online resources include questions about the physics behind everyday objects and occurances (with answers), video lectures, power point slide collections of Bloomfield's talks, supplements to the texbook (I'd highly recommend the "Batteries" supplement), a list of Physics demonstrations (with instructions), problem sets and solutions, and more! The "How Things Work" concept is to introduce core Physics ideas through things in the real world... A unit on Electrostatics, for example, begins with a discussion of air filtration.
