My rating of this resource: *****

My experience using this resource:
Biology

Topic I was teaching:
Origin of life

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
I wanted students to have exposure to researchers who are trying to addresses questions about the origin of life on earth.

Course Level:
Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
We watched the video and then had a discussion about the research.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases access to scientists, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
It is a relatively short video clip and has a variety of research. It shows scientists working on one of the most fundamental questions in biology. My students loved talking about the work and even the ethics behind creating an artificial life form.

Weaknesses:
Sometimes I have had a hard time loading the clip. I am not sure if it was my network or a problem with the Nova website. There was a span of three days where I tried to show the clip but had to give up because the clip would not load.
