Description
of resource:
This activity provides a model on how to make a synthetic life form in order to understand what a living thing requires. The model make analogies to represent what a living organism requires (for example an engine that represents metabolism) that is a little simplistic but can lead to a discussion about what the analogy represents. After each step there is a "reality check" that explains what research has been completed by scientists for that particular step.
