Ecology

Topic I was teaching:
Energy distribution within an ecosystem

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Investigating the relationship among producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, and tertiary consumers within a food chain.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
I set up a word document with instructions and guided questions. Students followed the instructions and completed this virtual lab. It is a very effective learning tool.

Strengths:
The content of this lab matches the state standard. It addresses key terms and assist students in visualizing & understanding key concepts. This virtual lab is user friendly and it is accompanied by simple and easy to read instructions. Once the teacher has set up students' accounts the first time they use the site, classroom management is minimal for the students are engaged and remain engaged for the duration of the lab. This activity is a very effective learning tool.
