My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Genetics

Topic I was teaching:
DNA Replication, Transcription & Translation

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Describe the processes of DNA Transcription & Translation

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
Students were to log onto teacher's website to retrieve their assignment. The assignment they retrieved was a word document containing instructions and a link to the animation. They transcribed a piece of DNA by pairing each nitrogenous base with its complement. Then, they had to click and drag the animo acid each codon coded for.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases modeling skills, Provides practice or tutorial, Provides assessment opportunity, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
This resource is a very effective learning tool. it is easy to use. The content is very appropriate for the grade level being taught. As far as classroom management, once students are logged on and they have started with the assignment, they are not likely to get off task.

Weaknesses:
None
