My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Biology

Topic I was teaching:
Plant Life Cycles

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
I wanted students to get a sense of how alternation of generations works in plants. Mosses are easy to see both the sporophyte and gametophyte as different plant generations. This serves as a great background as we move on to flowering plants.

Course Level:
A.P., Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
I had students view this resource after we had discussed the life cycles of plants. They watched the animation at home and then we reviewed it again in class the next day to see if there were any more questions about the process.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Provides practice or tutorial, Provides additional content

Strengths:
The content is accurate and this animationis easy for students to use. This animation helped students review terminology that was new while viewing the process of alternation of generations. The quiz at the end is also helpful in assessing how well they have mastered the material.

Weaknesses:
I wish there were images of real moss tissues embedded in the animation.
