My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Physics

Topic I was teaching:
Lab work

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Engaging students in "cool" Physics

Course Level:
A.P., Honors or Advanced, Intro or Regular, Remedial

How I/my students used the resource:
I wanted to check up on my students who wanted to build one of these... The class broke into groups to design their own labs. One group wanted to build a flame tube. They downloaded instructions from the internet. I found this site to get a sense of what was and was not possible.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Access to other student work or data, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
It tells you what it is, it shows pictures of imporrant parts, gives building suggestsions and tips for possible problems, shows some physics and history, and lists nice references.

Weaknesses:
This is not a specific "follow these instructions and build it" plan. (That is available elsewhere.)
