Description

This is the homepage for satellite observations of the sun at a variety of UV and X-ray wavelengths. These dramatically show sunspots and other solar surface activity, both in near realtime and in archived data. Especially dramatic images and movies can be found in the Gallery, including my favorite, a major series of storms that culminated in a huge flare during the time period late October/early November 2003. The site also has a "Classroom" section with lots of information about the Sun and the mission.
