My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Earth Systems Sci

Topic I was teaching:
US Rivers and floods

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
I wanted students to be aware of the massive amount of water that flows through the Mississippi and how often devestating floods occur there

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
Students viewed the historical info about what has been done to control flooding on the Mississippi River and answered the questions on the pages to determine if the floods occurred inspite of these attempts

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Provides a virtual lab, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
allows students to see images of floods that have occurred inspite of flood control techniques and gives enough background info for students to understand the devestation that occurs during a flood

Weaknesses:
not updated to include Katrina's levee failure and how that differs from historical flooding
