My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Physics

Topic I was teaching:
Electric current

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Describe how power plants work and how electricity is generated.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
The assignment that I gave to my students was to create a one-slide PowerPoint presentation that would contain a diagram representing the main parts of a power plant and a short expalnation of how it works. The students could choose between different types of power plants. They went to my web site where they accessed this and other informational resources on power plants through hyperlinks. They were required to write a short summary about power plants and to draw a diagram illustrating how a power plant works. The majority of the students successfully completed this assignment during one class period.

Value Added:
Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
This resource contains a lot of interesting information about how a nuclear power plant works.

Weaknesses:
None.
