My rating of this resource: ***

My experience using this resource:
Forensic Science

Topic I was teaching:
Chromatography of inks.

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
I wanted the students to be able to complete a virtual chromatogram before they came into the lab to work on the "evidence" that they collected from their crime scene

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
The students completed this simulation before performing the actual chromatography on the note found at the crime scene

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Provides access to remote instrumentation, Increases data collection & analysis skills, Provides a virtual lab, Provides practice or tutorial, Provides additional content

Strengths:
This site shows a good representation of a chromatography experiment using ink. There is a good explanation of how to perform the experiment and how to analyze the data afterward

Weaknesses:
The site was a somewhat simplified for the level of student that was using it. As an introduction, it was okay
