My rating of this resource: ***

My experience using this resource:
Forensic Science

Topic I was teaching:
Blood typing

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
I wanted the students to learn how blood types are determined and how each person inherits his/her blood type from parents. Students learned that a suspect can be eliminated based on blood types, but not convicted based on blood type alone

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
Students went onto website and went through tutorial and learned about blood types

Value Added:
Increases modeling skills, Increases data collection & analysis skills, Provides practice or tutorial

Strengths:
This site is useful for teaching blood typing genetics for students

Weaknesses:
It wasn't as useful for a forensics course as I would have liked. I would have liked to have a site that allowed students to collect evidence and then take it to the "lab" and analyze this evidence for blood types
