My rating of this resource: *****

My experience using this resource:
biology

Topic I was teaching:
My students were to find a current scientific article of merit and write a short summary on it. They were to also describe their attraction to the article they chose.

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
To increase awareness of science and encourage students to seek out veritable sites if they were going to use the internet instead of publications such as Scientific American or Discover.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
I use it to find interesting articles that fit into the curriculum. Students can use it for research.

Value Added:
Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
current, following links leads to additional information.
Free. Every student can read through it like a science magazine.

Weaknesses:
Without laptops or computer access this won't be of much use unless the pages are printed out for student use.
Some material may be above some reading levels. Is not selected for students like some of the science magazines that can be purchased for classes.
