Description
of resource:
This is an excellent site that allows students to learn in an interactive way about DNA from the history of its discovery to the wonders and cautionary tales of all the subsequent applications that have arisen from the mastery of recombinant DNA technology and the mapping of the human genome. Each module includes video recordings of real life interviews with the scientists involved and animations that help students visualize the process. There is also usually some sort of interactive game that allows students to take part in the process.

In addition, the site has links to many resources and allows teachers to register and create/publish their own MyDNAi website. Once registered teachers can personally design this website to their particular curricular needs and get access to resources and discounts only provided to registered users. These resoures include complete lesson plans.
