My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Physics

Topic I was teaching:
Velocity & Acceleration

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Study how to represent motion with graphs of position vs. time and velocity vs. time.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular, Remedial

How I/my students used the resource:
Students first made their own graphs of position and velocity versus time by moving in front of the motion detector. Then they had to match 4 graphs (2 each of position v time and velocity v time) that I had pre-made, by moving appropriately.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases graphing skills, Provides access to remote instrumentation, Increases data collection & analysis skills, Provides additional content, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
Kids have a great time! Instant access to graphs. Great visualization tool for the studetns. Once the computers and sensors are set up, it actually works pretty well.

Weaknesses:
Took about 2 hours to get the laptops and sensors up and running the night before. Needed to reinstall software. Laptops crashed.
