My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Physics

Topic I was teaching:
Heat transfer

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
Students will be able to identify the direction of heat transfer and the waythe heat is transferred.

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
These questions were given to students as homework. The address of the web resource where the answers are located was also provided. The students were expected to do the homework during their independent study time that school day. However, most of the students appeared to answer the questions independently without referring to the web site. A few students appeared to take the answers from the on-line resource. The most difficult question appeared to be the last one - about the refrigerator - apparently because we did not study how a refrigerator works in detail. Even some of the students who appeared to answer the questions with Internet help were not able to give a clear explanation of how a refrigerator works.

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Provides practice or tutorial, Provides additional content, Provides assessment opportunity

Strengths:
In my opinion, the strengh of this resource is that it provides both questions and answers, and that the answers contain both text explanation and diagrams.

Weaknesses:
In my opinion, it will be more effective as a learning tool if the students discuss the questions in groups and then compare their answers with the Internet answers.
