minerals

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
students discover that minerals are more concentrated in certain regions of the country
students learn about how minerals are obtained, processed, and used

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
Students used this as a starting point for a short research paper on two minerals, and were encouraged to find other sources on their own.

Value Added:
Provides access to data sets, Provides additional content, Provides assessment opportunity, Increases student engagement and motivation

Strengths:
Professional quality information

Weaknesses:
Students must be able to manage technical vocabulary and sift through much information to answer the specific questions that were posed to them
