My rating of this resource: ****

My experience using this resource:
Earth Systems Sci

Topic I was teaching:
the carbon cycle

My learning goal for which this resource was used:
- Carbon is a biologically important element
- Carbon is stored in many stocks in the Earth System
- Stocks of the carbon cycle have been altered significantly since the Industrial Revolution
- The role of carbon in the atmosphere

Course Level:
Intro or Regular

How I/my students used the resource:
created a flipchart for my Activboard which included satellite images to provide info on why it is important to study this cycle

Value Added:
Provides visualization or animation, Increases access to scientists, Provides additional content

Strengths:
this is really effective as a learning tool because it provides additional content that is not available in their textbooks; it also relates what we have been studying to "real-world" data collection

Weaknesses:
although this is a great resource, it still needs more visual aids to help students see the "big picture"
